Your Impact Will Change, And That’s Okay.
The way you make a difference in the world can change, at anytime. Do not be afraid of this.
When I was a teenager in Iran, my country was in the throes of political turmoil. Like many liberal minded students, I fought for what I thought was right: equal liberties, access to education, and the right to a good, fair life. In that time, I made use of my body, mind and spirit to take to the streets, to pass out literature, to join hands with those who believed for a better world.
I was a Fighter.
When the political climate got too dangerous, I had to make a move. I found myself in India, a young girl, looking for refuge. To say that I found that, and so much more, is an understatement.
Learning about spirituality and it’s different shapes in India was like putting to words something that I had always felt but had no vocabulary for. I began studying, learning and teaching different schools of spirituality. I found my voice in the teachings of Lao-Tzu and Buddha. I found passion in the work of Mother Teresa and followed my path to the feet of Quan Yin. I found solace and peace in chanting, meditating and soft movements of yoga. I channeled that fighter spirit in my younger years into one of power and ultimate compassion.
I was and am a Yogi.
I got married. I moved to the states. I had Children. I moved another dozen times. Reiki came into my life. Frosty came into my life. I found Refloxology. I opened Emerging Om. I worked with Schools for the Blind in India. I taught to incarcerated women in America. I went to Brazil and sat with John of God. And these are only the highlights. Through each of these experiences, I learned how to change and shift and GROW to continue making a difference in new ways.
I help people heal.
All of this is to say- don’t be too attached to HOW you make an impact in your world. Have trust in your values and mission in life, and allow for the gifts of our planet to help you. Listen to the messages and use them to tell your story. Tell me: how do you make an impact in the world today? Comment below!
